Every year, we have the pleasure of decorating our convention with a new visual by talented and creative artists. The 2024 visual was designed by comic artist Stanley Artgerm Lau. Take a look at the great visuals from previous years here!
Based in Singapore, Artgerm is an illustrator, designer, concept artist, creative director and co-founder of Imaginary Friends Studios - a globally recognized digital art studio that produces high-quality artwork for companies such as Capcom, DC Comics, Marvel Comics and other giants of the entertainment and gaming industry. At Marvel Comics in particular, Artgerm has made a name for himself with a series of unique cover designs. His work has graced titles such as ASTONISHING X-MEN, BLACK PANTHER, CAPTAIN MARVEL, MIGHTY THOR, SPIDER-GWEN, ABSOLUTE CARNAGE and many more. Some of his famous DC comic covers are SUPERGIRL, CAT WOMAN and WONDER WOMAN.
Besides his commercial endeavor, Artgerm is actively shaping the international art scene and continues to inspire new generations of artists around the world with his convention appearances and his art educational program. On social media, his mix of Eastern and Western art styles inspires over 1 million followers. We are delighted that Stanley Artgerm Lau designed the visual for our 10th anniversary and look forward to his visit to FANTASY BASEL - The Swiss Comic Con 2024!

In 2023, graffiti artist and illustrator Syrk brought a part of his universe inhabited by colourful, funny and crazy animals onto our visual. On walls or canvases, Syrk brings an incredible bestiary to life with his iconic animal figures. His work is a tribute to the animal world, because for him the animal kingdom dominates humanity. Sometimes cute, sometimes cheeky, Syrk's animals challenge and stimulate our imagination.

2022 we were delighted with our beautiful and futuristic visual, designed by Italian comic artist Laura Braga! Laura began her career in 1999 as a storyboard artist for television commercials. In 2012, she entered the US comics industry, working for Top Cow as a regular cartoonist for Witchblade. Since 2014, she has worked for Marvel on titles such as Superior Iron Man, Captain Marvel, The Punisher and Dazzler. She also drew on FUTURE STATE: THE NEXT BATMAN, the story about the first Black Batman in the DC Universe, which was released in 2021 and written by Academy Award winner John Ridley (12 Years a Slave). Currently, Laura inspires as a comic book artist for "BLOSSOMS 666" and as a cover artist for the new miniseries "Archie and Katy Keene," for Dynamite Comics and Archie Comics.

The internationally successful comic artist Viktor Bogdanović grew up in Basel, but also lived for a long time in Berlin and Belgrade. After a brief detour via Image Comics, he was soon working for DC and Marvel on comics such as Wolverine, Batman: Arkham Knight and Aquaman. Viktor Bogdanović was also signed on for the ur-superhero comic book series Action Comics, which he co-created with DC legend Dan Jurgens (The Death of Superman). With award-winning writer Gene Luen Yang, he introduced readers to an all-new superhero, Kong Kenan, in New Super-Man Vol 1: Made in China.

With his series "The Scorpion" (2 million works sold worldwide) and "The Eagles of Rome" (more than 500,000 copies), he has attracted many readers not only in Switzerland but also in France, Germany and Italy, his country of origin. For DC Entertainment, he illustrated, among others, two Batman comics published by Dargaud and Panini.

Maurizio Manzieri, the artist behind the FANTASY BASEL - The Swiss Comic Con Visual 2016 is an internationally successful illustrator from Turin and professionally specialized in surreal fantasy worlds. His artwork has been published on countless covers of leading international publishers and magazines: Mondadori, Bragelonne, The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, Asimov's SF, Analog, ImagineFX, MacMillan, Putnam / Berkley, PYR, Prime Books and Subterranean Press. Our 2016 visual features a steampunk version of the city of Basel with a clear "Alice in Wonderland" influence. In 2018 and 2019 he also designed the visual for the ZURICH GAME SHOW.
