Please read our general conditions for ticket purchase and visitors. Cosplayers should also read our weapons regulations.
FANTASY BASEL – The Swiss Comic Con is designed to be a pleasant and positive experience for everyone. We would therefore ask you to comply with the following rules:
You may only take photos of cosplayers with their consent. We respect all peaceful people, irrespective of their religion, sexual orientation or lifestyle. We will not tolerate any discrimination and expect visitors to behave respectfully towards one another.
Without written permission from FantasyCon AG, photos taken at FANTASY BASEL – The Swiss Comic Con may only be used for non-commercial purposes.
We would please ask parents to note that some cosplayers and exhibition articles might not be suitable for small and unsuspecting children. Adolescents aged under 14 may only enter if they are accompanied by a parent or guardian. The PEGI 18-game area as well as the horror corner (it will be marked in the map) can be avoided with small children (more details can be asked at our information desk). However, Cosplayers can be seen all over the festival area.
It is allowed to bring food and drinks for children.
No costume requirement!
We are often asked if you have to wear a costume: No, most visitors visit us in normal street clothes. But we are happy about great cosplay costumes – visitors please refer to our Cosplay Respect Code.
We understand cosplay as an art in the gaming and film sector: Advertising figures of products or companies and offensive costumes are neither admitted to the contests nor the FANTASY BASEL – The Swiss Comic Con in general, as well.
Even if you have a valid ticket, you may be denied entry to FANTASY BASEL – The Swiss Comic Con if you do not comply with the cosplay rules or adhere to the festival regulations. If you are denied entry, you will not be entitled to a refund of your ticket price. We would please ask all cosplayers to adhere to the Insignia Act, which forbids the display of certain signs and symbols. We also do not allow any symbols used by extreme organisations.
We would please ask all cosplayers to comply with our weapons regulation. Switzerland is not an EU country, so please note the following when crossing the border from abroad.
Unpacked weapons and weapon-like objects are not permitted in public areas or on public transport. There is a ban on face coverings in Basel. Please also remove any face masks, helmets, etc. before entering any business premises, shops or restaurants within the city of Basel.
Cosplayers possessing any replica weapons that are permitted under our weapon regulations must get these checked and labelled by our weapons inspectors before entering the festival.
There are changing / make-up rooms available. Rejected costumes / weapons cannot be deposited at the weapons regulation booth. A normal wardrobe is available for a fee.
Dogs and other pets are not allowed onto the fair premises. Infringement will result in your ticket being withdrawn.
Our security staff are authorised to search bags and luggage and to carry out additional security checks.
Taking along alcoholic drinks, food and more than 1 Lt of mineral water is not allowed. Parents with children are allowed to bring their own food and drinks for the kids.
The exhibition grounds are generally accessible by wheelchair. Unfortunately, we can not grant accompanying persons any price reduction.
Age restrictions: Certain games have a minimum age restriction. The providers of these games will therefore carry out their own age checks or issue age-coded wristbands.
Tickets allow holders to gain entry to the fair premises, but not to all the panels, shows, autograph sessions and side events. Once the detailed programme is announced, we will advise which events will not be free to enter.
Access to certain halls may be restricted if there are already too many visitors in any particular area. You will not be entitled to a refund of your ticket price if you have been required to wait or if certain areas have been closed.
At FANTASY BASEL – The Swiss Comic Con we and several media will film and take pictures.
