Friday, Saturday and Sunday – 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
A Covid certificate (vaccinated, tested, recovered) is required from the age of 16. The certificate is only valid together with an officially valid ID (with picture).
A costume is not required, most visitors come in normal street clothes. Please note our Cosplay Respect Code:.
Only people with a valid Covid certificate (from the age of 16) and ID card have access to Hall 1. A test centre will be set up in Hall 2 (Brick Building). Tests cost CHF 25 and are valid for 48 hours.
Those who already have a valid Covid certificate do not need to take a test.
When entering the hall, masks are obligatory for everyone until AFTER the ticket control. After the ticket control, masks are no longer required in the halls (further regulations by the authorities reserved). However, we recommend wearing a mask during longer conversations and in areas where it is not possible to keep your distance. As netiquette, please wear a mask when talking to people who do not belong to your environment. This applies especially to contact with staff, artists, cosplayers and in the autograph area.
Please note the rules of conduct and the protection concept (will be published shortly before the trade fair depending on official orders) as well as the general Covid rules and adhere to them.
The box office does not open until 11 am. Tickets at the box office are CHF 5 more expensive than in advance sales. Visitors with pre-sale tickets have quicker access to the halls.
Late riser tickets:
If you want to take it easy and want to go into the halls without long queuing with many people, you can buy a late riser ticket (access from 12 noon). You make it easier for us to do the entrance controls.
On Friday, October 8, adolescents (until the 16th birthday) pay half the price (CHF 14.50) if they are accompanied by an adult. Children (until the 9th birthday) do not have to pay admission.
Tickets already purchased for 2019/2020:
The tickets already purchased in 2019/2020 for FANTASY BASEL – The Swiss Comic Con 2020 remain valid (Thursday tickets are valid for Sunday, Friday / Saturday remain the same: change requests for tickets purchased in 2019/2020 can be sent by email to firstname.lastname@example.org).

Door opening and ticket control: from 10 a.m.
Please have IDs for age control and the Covid certificate ready.
Express Handling: Visitors with pre-sale tickets are faster in the halls.
*In order to spare the visitors long queues at the entrance, we offer two variants of day tickets:
Early Bird Day ticket: As an “Early Bird” you can already enter the halls at 10 o’clock and thus have 2 hours more time for bargain hunting or autographs (Number of tickets is limited!).
Late Riser Day Ticket: You’ll be able to sleep comfortably, look forward to a relaxed admission procedure and, as a “late riser”, you will be able to experience 7 exciting hours of our festival.
A day ticket is valid for one entry into the halls (no re-entry possible).
Admission during all 3 festival days. The tickets are non-transferable, but not personalised. That means, tickets can be given away before the event, without any problem. Only after admission, the ticket or wristband can no longer be passed on. The Covid certificate (vaccinated, tested, recovered) must be presented and checked every time you enter the hall.
If accompanied by their parents (or other guardians over the age of 18), kids up to the age of 9 / until the 9th birthday do not pay entry fee.
Adolescents up to the age of 14 / until the 14th birthday must be accompanied by an adult.
Adolescents up to the age of 16 / until the 16th birthday pay a reduced entrance fee.
If you are a mega-fan and would like to support FANTASY BASEL – The Swiss Comic Con, we offer a Golden Ticket for three days.

Owners of Golden Tickets are also supporters of FANTASY BASEL – The Swiss Comic Con and support the organizer to make this event possible.
Please read our general conditions for ticket purchase and visitors. Cosplayers should also read our weapons regulations.
FANTASY BASEL – The Swiss Comic Con is designed to be a pleasant and positive experience for everyone. We would therefore ask you to comply with the following rules. Please also note the special access conditions and rules of conduct regarding the Covid pandemic.
You may only take photos of cosplayers with their consent. We respect all peaceful people, irrespective of their religion, sexual orientation or lifestyle. We will not tolerate any discrimination and expect visitors to behave respectfully towards one another.
Without written permission from FantasyCon AG, photos taken at FANTASY BASEL – The Swiss Comic Con may only be used for non-commercial purposes.
We would please ask parents to note that some cosplayers and exhibition articles might not be suitable for small and unsuspecting children. Adolescents aged under 14 may only enter if they are accompanied by a parent or guardian. The PEGI 18-game area as well as the horror corner (it will be marked in the map) can be avoided with small children (more details can be asked at our information desk). However, Cosplayers can be seen all over the festival area.
It is allowed to bring food and drinks for children.
No costume requirement!
We are often asked if you have to wear a costume: No, most visitors visit us in normal street clothes. But we are happy about great cosplay costumes – visitors please refer to our Cosplay Respect Code.
We understand cosplay as an art in the gaming and film sector: Advertising figures of products or companies and offensive costumes are neither admitted to the contests nor the FANTASY BASEL – The Swiss Comic Con in general, as well.
Even if you have a valid ticket, you may be denied entry to FANTASY BASEL – The Swiss Comic Con if you do not comply with the cosplay rules or adhere to the festival regulations. If you are denied entry, you will not be entitled to a refund of your ticket price. We would please ask all cosplayers to adhere to the Insignia Act, which forbids the display of certain signs and symbols. We also do not allow any symbols used by extreme organisations.
We would please ask all cosplayers to comply with our weapons regulation. Switzerland is not an EU country, so please note the following when crossing the border from abroad.
Unpacked weapons and weapon-like objects are not permitted in public areas or on public transport. There is a ban on face coverings in Basel. Please also remove any face masks, helmets, etc. before entering any business premises, shops or restaurants within the city of Basel.
Cosplayers possessing any replica weapons that are permitted under our weapon regulations must get these checked and labelled by our weapons inspectors before entering the festival.
There are changing / make-up rooms available. Rejected costumes / weapons cannot be deposited at the weapons regulation booth. A normal wardrobe is available for a fee.
Dogs and other pets are not allowed onto the fair premises. For reasons of animal ethics and safety as well as due to the special conditions in the halls with partially increased visitor density and various, often spontaneous sources of noise and action, companion and assistance dogs are also not allowed.
Infringement will result in your ticket being withdrawn.
Our security staff are authorised to search bags and luggage and to carry out additional security checks.
Taking along alcoholic drinks, food and more than 1 Lt of mineral water is not allowed. Parents with children are allowed to bring their own food and drinks for the kids.
The exhibition grounds are generally accessible by wheelchair. Unfortunately, we can not grant accompanying persons any price reduction.
Age restrictions: Certain games have a minimum age restriction. The providers of these games will therefore carry out their own age checks or issue age-coded wristbands.
Tickets allow holders to gain entry to the fair premises, but not to all the panels, shows, autograph sessions and side events. Once the detailed programme is announced, we will advise which events will not be free to enter.
Access to certain halls may be restricted if there are already too many visitors in any particular area. You will not be entitled to a refund of your ticket price if you have been required to wait or if certain areas have been closed.
At FANTASY BASEL – The Swiss Comic Con we and several media will film and take pictures. Taking picture and recording film material in the public areas of the event is only allowed for private usage. To use the Photo/Film material commercially there has to be obtained approval from the organizer.
