Ralf König at the FANTASY BASEL – The Swiss Comic Con 2021

Ralf König is one of the most important German comic artists and authors. His numerous comic publications, including “Kondom des Grauens”, “Der bewegte Mann”, “Prototyp” and “Herbst in der Hose” are known and loved far beyond the comic scene and even beyond the gay scene.

Some comics have also been filmed for the big screen or performed as puppet shows or plays. Already since the nineties, his stories as well as Ralf König himself have been awarded with a variety of prizes, such as the “Max-und-Moritz-Preis” in 1992 in the category “Best German Comic Artist” and in 2014 the “Sonderpreis für ein herausragendes Lebenswerk”. His books have been translated into more than a dozen languages, most recently into Catalan, Gaelic and Polish. His new work, “Lucky Luke – Zarter Schmelz,” published by Egmont Verlag, has also received a lot of attention. Ralf König says: “The outstanding comic hero of my childhood was definitely Lucky Luke! That’s why I’m thrilled to be able, five decades later, to officially take up the pencil and draw the poor lonesome cowboy’s own adventure on the occasion of his 75th birthday.

Ralf König will be present at FANTASY BASEL – The Swiss Comic Con on all three days, reading from his works and signing them. We are really looking forward to it!
