The fact that Swiss landscapes has played a key role in Tolkien’s fantasy worlds is now an open secret. Middle-earth expert Bernd Greisinger gives in his presentation insight into the proven and suspected around the “Swiss Middle-earth world”. Since J.R.R. Tolkien was inspired by our wonderful Swiss mountains to his fantastic landscape descriptions, we should all the more enjoy and travel. But before we all storm the Lauterbrunnen Valley in the Bernese Oberland and look for Elves and Bilbo Baggins, we will let Bernd Greisinger tell us more about Tolkien’s Swiss experiences. We are sure you will not only get news about J.R.R. Tolkien and his world, but also about Switzerland. Of course, Bernd Greisinger will be available after the lecture for questions about Tolkien and Middle-earth.
