Kiran Shah was born 1956 in Nairobi, Kenia, and when his family moved to India 12 years later, he discovered his interest in movies. He followed this interest only when he was 17 and living in England. He went to his first audition and got the role as main clown mime artist. After a few years in various theater productions he worked 1976 for the first time on a filmset as a double in the film ‘Candelshoe’ alongside Jodie Foster. Because of this role, he started to work as a stuntman. Kiran can be seen in many blockbuster as stuntman like Superman, Aliens, Titanic, James Bond, Harry Potter and many more. He spent four years in New Zealand for the fantasy saga ‘the lord of the rings’, where he worked as a scale and stunt double for Frodo.
Also he can be seen as actor in many movies, like Star Wars, where he played an Ewok. He also played in Indiana Jones, Sherlock Holmes, Alice in Wonderland, the Chronicles of Narnia and many more. Besides the movies he also played in many TV productions. In his career Kiran was able to work with the biggest directors of all times these include Peter Jackson, James Cameron, Ridley Scott, Terry Gilliam, Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Ken Russell, Andrew Adamson, Michael Winner and many more.
He himself has also directed a short movie called ‘Still Living’, which was played in Cannes and Edinburgh at the film festivals and which also won a few prizes. Besides his acting talent Kiran also writes poetry, which was also published in Britain and the US.
